Eli Velez: Braves Country Community Hero! #HispanicHeritageMonth

Eli Velez or Eliezer received a well deserved recognition as “Braves Country Community Hero”. I met Eliezer in 2002, when he was working in the Housing Department at The Latin American Association. I have seen Eliezer grow and re-commit to the community, his community, every year. Congratulations Eliezer for the award, for your work and your dedication!!

Braves Give

On Monday, September 12, the Atlanta Braves honored Eliezer “Eli” Velez as a Braves Country Community Hero presented by Chick-fil-A. Eli is the Managing Director of Youth Programs at the Latin America Association (LAA). He started with LAA in 2001 as a volunteer and has worked his way up within the organization, impacting the lives of students along the way. In his current role, Eli coordinates an after-school program, a mentorship program, and an annual youth conference, all aiming to empower Latino students to pursue higher education and expose them to experience outside their community. Eli is passionate about helping students succeed and teaching them to believe in themselves.
